Haas’ 2022 F1 car passes crash tests ahead of new season
Haas is the first team to officially announce that it has successfully passed the crash tests.
Mercedes fired up its W13 car earlier today for the first time, while Ferrari revealed that it plans to launch its own new challenger in the middle of February.
Haas will be hoping for a more fruitful campaign after failing to score a single point in 2021.
The American outfit decided against developing its car last year to solely focus on the new regulations for 2022.
F1 embarks on a new era next year with stricter budget restrictions and fundamental changes to the cars themselves which are expected to level the playing field, but also make overtaking easier.
Haas had been a regular midfield team in its first four seasons before suffering in 2020 with Ferrari’s power unit struggles.
Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin will remain with the team for a second campaign.
Pre-season testing begins in February at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya before F1 heads to Bahrain for a second test.
The 2022 F1 season starts on March 20 at the Bahrain International Circuit.
