Coca-Cola announces F3000 deal with Nordic.

The Central European Division of The Coca-Cola Company has announced that it will be expanding its sponsorship of the FIA Formula 3000 International Championship's Nordic Racing team.

The new deal gives Coca-Cola the position of 'title sponsor' with the team, and is an expansion of the sponsorship that began during the 2000 season with Nordic driver Justin Wilson. Wilson keeps his place in the Norfolk-based squad for 2001, where he will be partnered by F3000 race-winner Tomas Enge, who transfers from the McLaren Junior team.

Coca-Cola is using the relationship with Formula 3000 as a key marketing property with a high degree of local relevance within the Division, and is planning a broad range of consumer and customer programs to activate the sponsorship.

"Motorsport is a property which is increasingly popular with young people in Central Europe," said Mark Hope, managing director of the Carpathian Region at Coca-Cola, "We are proud to build upon our successful association with Nordic Racing, and look forward to an exciting and successful season in 2001."
