MIPS: McCune on pole for series debut.

Sarah McCune became the first woman to win a pole position in the IRL Menards Infiniti Pro Series on Saturday at the Chicagoland Speedway as female drivers swept both pole positions on offer at the 1.5-mile oval.

Making her series debut for defending MIPS champion team Sam Schmidt Motorsports, McCune stunned the series regulars as she lapped the course in 29.1382 seconds, 187.795 mph.

McCune joins Marco Andretti, A.J. Foyt IV, Travis Gregg and Thiago Medeiros as drivers to win the pole position in their first Menards Infiniti Pro Series start.
