PKV name to remain 'for now'.
Jimmy Vasser has confirmed that PKV Racing will continue to operate under that name in 2007, despite co-owner Dan Pettitt having shifted his attention to rivals RuSPORT.
Despite snapping up Carl Russo's operation when the founder bailed out, Pettitt continues to have an involvement in PKV, and the team will continue to run under the acronym formed by the initials of its three owners, Pettit, Kevin Kalkhoven and Vasser.

Although the first round of pre-season testing with the all-new Panoz chassis is just over a week away, PKV has yet to formally announce who will be driving its cars this year. One thing is for certain, however, and that is that Vasser will not be among the line-up. The veteran told Crash.net contributor Lynne Huntting that he would be concentrating on running the team, and supplementing his pit-wall role with occasional outings in the #99 GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing Riley-Pontiac Daytona Prototype, starting with this month's Rolex 24 Hours.
Vasser confirmed that Swiss GP2 and A1GP star Neel Jani would be one of PKV's two drivers, having been guided in the team's direction by long-time backer Red Bull, but would not be drawn on the identity of Jani's team-mate, claiming that the name would only be revealed 'as soon as his cheque clears' - the male reference all but confirming that Katherine Legge will not be returning to the team that gave her her Champ Car break in 2006.
Vasser is known to want Oriol Servia back with the team, but admits that everything relies on sponsorship. In the meantime, the Spaniard will be in opposition to his US mentor at Daytona, having agreed to drive Doran Racing's #77 Kodak Ford alongside another Vasser team-mate, Michel Jourdain Jr, Memo Gidley and Fabrizio Gollin.
