For Reed, who finished second on debut in the world 250cc motocross series and then won the Australian Masters event in his homeland, it was a mixed weekend. He finished second overall on the first night, leading home American legend McGrath on two occasions, then took fourth on Saturday, clocking the quickest times of the weekend around the tight Bercy track. The final night, however, dropped him out of the results.
