Prost Buys Junior Team For F3000
Alain Prost has increased his team's involvement in the F3000 series by buying the Apomatox team.
Prost Grand Prix became involved with Apomatox last season in order to create a farm for drivers and team personnel, and have gone one step further for 1999 by taking over the French outfit. Apomatox will be renamed the Gauloise Junior Team, and operate as a subsidiary of the F1 outfit.

Prost intends to further the team's role as a training ground for drivers and engineers in much the same way as Jackie Stewart has done with his "staircase of talent", and has signed Stephane Sarrazin and Andre Couto to pilot the new Lola-chassised cars in 1999.
