Head: Cynical Ferrari Cost Us Points.
Williams technical boss Patrick Head blasted Ferrari after the Belgian Grand Prix for using blocking tactics to help the struggling Eddie Irvine.
According to Head, the Italian outfit instructed Irvine's team-mate, Mika Salo, to hold up the cars behind him - including Williams' Ralf Schumacher - in order to keep the Irishman as high as possible in the points. Schumacher eventually finished one place behind Irvine, in fifth position, but could have featured more highly, according to his boss.

"Unfortunately, Ralf fell foul of Ferrari's cynical approach to running a one-car team with a blocking tactic to protect Irvine's position," Head stormed, "Frankly, I am very surprised Mika was prepared to accept such orders from the pits. Ferrari has been doing this for the last number of years and, I have to say, I very much appreciate McLaren's approach in running a two-car team.
"They will thoroughly deserve the drivers' and manufacturers' championships, which I hope they achieve this year."
