Hopkins, Liuzzi 'crossover' cancelled.

A planned MotoGP/F1 crossover, involving Suzuki's John Hopkins driving the Red Bull Formula One car and F1 racer Tonio Liuzzi experiencing Suzuki MotoGP power, has been cancelled.

Team Suzuki have confirmed to Crash.net that the event, organised by Red Bull, was due to take place on August 11 but has now been called off after Hopkins broke his foot during two heavy falls at last weekend's German Grand Prix.

The nearest Liuzzi has got to experiencing a MotoGP machine is a ride on the Ducati two-seater, behind Randy Mamola, at the 2005 Italian Grand Prix - while Hopper drove an aging F1 machine, behind a pace car, at an Alpinestars organised event at Magny Cours, France in 2003.
